CUTE CARD THURSDAY - ITS JUST A NUMBER
CHALLENGE 139 - ITS JUST A NUMBER
When i saw this challenge i wanted to also challenge myself. I decided that l was going to use my eCraft machine to do the cutting. I have hundreds of svg files that l have downloaded as well as designed myself.
Owls are being used a lot in cards and i knew i had an owl design. When i looked at it it didnt quite fit in to what i wanted it was to adult. So using Illustrater i took the base into there and started to build up a new Owl that was more child friendly if you know what i mean. [I will put the files onto my blog so that you can then download and use it yourself.]
Dont ask me why l came up with the number 5 it just shouted at me.
The wording Happy Owlday was done again in Illustrator and that was transphred also to the card shape so l could mat and layer.
Once i had cut out all my componants l built up the owl. This was then placed onto a topper. I ripped the edges of the topper paper as l didnt want it to be cleen lines but as if it had come out of the nesting box and was sat on a branch looking out.
To make the card more 'earthy' i used 3 different distressing inks and inked the edges. Even the Owl was given a quick going over lol. The number was edged using an gold metalic pen just to make it stand out from the card front.
It was constructed over a sunday afternoon and it was good to get the eCraft machine out and not the Cricut.
It was then a case of building up the card.
Keep Warm and Safe now that the days are getting shorter and colder.
Happy Crafting
Alan
