BEARLY MINE CHALLENGE : UN-TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS ~ CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGE : CARD WITH A SENTAMENT
This is the first time that i have entered a card into 2 separate challenges.
I did this as i felt that the card would fit into each challenge and not degrade what they were.
While i was putting EZ Mount back onto stamps that l have and thought i could just use a good glue to secure them onto a block and then wash off i came across a set of stamps that i last used over the summer. While i was looking at them this sentiment stood out, so i had my sentiment. I wanted to feature a Poinsettia as the centre of the card but as the challenge stated no RED or GREEN so i then thought why don't l use some white vellum paper. I had just bought some spellbinders dies that had a flower that would kinda fit into what l wanted.
So i now had a plan of action. Next was the shape of the card. I didn't want to do a plain A5 one as the colour scheme was going to be white and silver. [i added the yellow butchers string later when l was about to glue the buttons into place, i thought well its going to break up the card and give it another dimension, also it was a soft shade so would not stand out like a sore thumb!]
The shape of the card was made buy using another spellbinders Grande die. [just remember when making this style the top card make sure one edge of the card is on the inside of the spellbinder. This way you can have a straight edge and you can add a 'gusset' to make the card shape.
I just put some lace on the bottom of the card where the flowers were. I just wanted to add something again to give dimension.
The card took just over an hour to make as l wanted to post the card up before l headed out for a few hours.
Hope you like the card and that you might be inspired to try one or two of the elements. If you want to know anything about the card please contact me via the blog.
Keep warm and happy Crafting.
