Challenge #25 - Blog Hop - "Pairs"

Another year has whizzed by.
Cards for Men has now been running for two years and to celebrate we have a bloghop running as well as our usual challenge. The theme for our challenge is the number '2'.
Interpret it how you will, two cards, two images, pairs, twinsets (card & gift), etc. We'll draw a random winner and top 3 as usual. You can get all the details and lots more ideas from the Design Team over at the main site.

Here's what I made:
I wanted to make this card as simple as i possibly could. i took an image that i had in my 'Clip Art Collection and then printed them out. I 'flipped' one of the pictures as i wanted the card to look as if the bride was looking into a mirror just before she walked down the isle. I used a simple selection of pro-markers to colour in. I just wanted the face to be coloured. The dress was highlighted by using a glitter pen and just made a few dots.

To tie the images in l used my spellbinders and cut out a frame and a topper then using some flower spellbinders i made a embellishments for both. One had flowers the other looked like a mirror that had a few carved elements in it.

The mirror image was covered by a sheet of clear gloss acetate to look like a mirror.

To give the image depth as i wanted them to be on different placements. I took a sheet of A4 white card and then cut in half. A Martha Stewart punch gave the top edge a decorative look.
Folding one edge shorter than then the other so it was stepped. When closed one would fold onto the other.

A simple wording stamped image was placed in the centre of the long border.

There you have it a simple clean card.

If you want to know more please contact me and i will do my best to help you.

Also, we are having an Anniversary Blog Hop.

You can get the full list of blogs over at Cards for Men. If you arrived here from Tracy @ http://ahintofmagnolia.blogspot.com/2011/12/cards-for-men-blog-hop.html then you're on the right track.  If not, hop over to Cards for Men to start at the beginning.

At each stop there'll be a word to collect and a candy draw. I've got 3 Images to give away from:

I'm a SAHM with three young children. I trained in Textile Design at the Glasgw School of Art and I love all things handmade, but especially papercrafts. I love to doodle ... and my doodles are available to purchase as digital images through Stitchy Bear Stamps

If you would like to visit the site please click on the picture from Doodles..

To be in with a chance of winning this you just need to leave a comment at the end of this post. A random winner will be drawn on 19 December 2011.

Each stop will have a word which you should collect to make a festive phrase.

My word is 'CHRISTMAS'. At the end of the blog hop you should have 9 words, work out the phrase and leave it in the comments back at Cards for Men. The blog hop will run until midnight on 18 December 2010 and a winner will be chosen on 19 December 2011.

Your next stop is Mandy @ http://craftyfoxcards.blogspot.com/2011/12/cards-for-men-challenge-blog-hop.htmll.

If you lose your way you can go back to Cards for Men to get the full list.

Good luck everyone

Happy Hunting and as they say you have to be in it to win it!

Keep warm and be safe.
