MEMORY LANE

Memory Lane
This Image is from a Stamp Collection from CRAFTY INDIVIDUALS Ref: CI-274 [MEMORY LANE] that's available from THATS CRAFTY ON LINE STORE.

This stamp set comes in 2 parts that you have to cut out.[Don't worry about that as its an easy cut line]
Before l go into details on how l made this card its self l do have to say that its not an easy project, BUT with a little time and taking things easy you to can achieve a card just like this one.

SHOPPING LIST:

One 8” x 6” Card BlankSelection of Pro-Markers – Tartan Ribbon [Use what you have in your stock] - One Ribbon Tag – Text Stamp – Good Quality Pro-Marker White Paper – 7”x4” Blue & Silver Mounting Card – Black Dye Ink Pad [I have used Memento Tuxedo Black]Fine Tipped Pro-Marker Clip On’sGlossy Accents – Backing Paper –  Scrap Photocopy Paper - Normal crafty items like Scissors, Trimmer, Double sided tape, Craft Knife etc..

HOW TO MAKE:

The stamp comes in 2 parts, so the first thing we have to do is get used to the placement of them so that we dont see a overlap.

My first 100 attempts were not good on scrap paper lol But after a few tried l did manage to work out the placement of the stamps. Use a ruler and a very faint pencil line to build up a grid that works for you. Once again my Friskars East Stamp Press was just perfect as l could see the grid lines l had made and managed to get a good stamped image.

Once the image has dried [I just give it a quick blast with the heat gun, just to fix the ink.] This is when the fun starts we get to colour in. After l had selected my Pro-Markers l set about putting colour in to my image. The Fine Tip adapters that you can now buy are just perfect for this kind of very fine colour work.

Before l placed a colour onto the image l always do a quick scribble on some spare paper that's the same as the stamped image.

I have a folder that contains lots of failed stamped images. Don't throw the paper away as you can use this for testing the colour of a marker before you place it into an image. There is always some space left to do this. Also you may recognise how a colour looks from an earlier crafting project.

The last part of the colouring for me was the sky but before l did l decided where the start and finish of the card topper would be and that way to frame it l left a few mm either side and used the sky colour to go down the sides so there was no white left.

When that was done I trimmed it down and then mounted it onto the blue card leaving a 5mm trim all round. Then placed onto the silver card and again left a 5mm boarder all around.

After l have covered the blank card with my backing paper l decided where the placement of the ribbon, ribbon buckle and the topper were going to be then using a good clear glue l placed the topper into place.

After l had stamped my text l then secured the ribbon onto the card.

All that was left to do now that the card had been constructed was to use the glossy accents and ‘glaze’ all the windows on the image.

Leave flat to dry for a while and then that’s it. A card ready to be given

Any problems or questions please send me a message and l will do my best to help you.
