Flowers Card Challenge
This time we were given a free reign on what materials we can use.
So my eye started to wander all around the craft room. Then l found them.. Blank cd covers that are used when packs of cd's are sold. They are thinner than the normal computer disc so l thought would a Bigz Die cut through the plastic... YES IT DID.
Now we always know you have flower heads in odd numbers so l had to be carefull when it came to cutting out the parts l needed to build up the card.
After l had cut out 3 sets of flowers l took the alcohol inks out and just coloured the flower petals.
The Backing paper came from a cd called Sundae of Seasons.
The backing card was made by putting some co-ordinations paper and an embossing folder through my cricut and then sanding it back to show the core colour.
The leaf sprigs were made by cutting them out of plain card using a image and my Cricut Expression.
When l came to build up the card the flower heads didnt look right. So l got some Velumn and using the same Bigz die l cut out 2 layers and then crumpled them up to age them. That gave the flowers more depth and brought them to life.
A simple gold ribbon and some wool l have in my goodie box completed the card.
The edge of the card was treated with Tea Dye Distressing ink.
Really gorgeous card Alan and love those CD flowers which are such a great idea.
