SWIRLS, PEARLS and PRETTY PASTELS
The image that takes pride of place on the card are elements from the BRAND NEW CD 'PRETTY TUFF' from Polka Doodles. This CD gives us crafters the opportunity to make great cards using 'The Boys'!
I wanted to not go for the normal design that at first l thought i would do. I then asked myself 'Why cant i make a card that fits the brief but make it with a masculine twist?
The new CD had a load of images that i felt i could use. This gave the opportunity to work in my photo program and mix a few images to make the 'new image' i like building up a new 'scene' as if i was using rubber stamps and making masks. These photo programs give us the same opportunity to do just that. All it takes is a little time and forward planning. No matter what your level of skill and knowledge armed with the willingness to learn how to do it you will crack it. Just Grab yourself a cuppa and a slice of cake and go for it. You can do it.
Im just ammazed at the work that crafters do on their cricuts or other die cutting machines. I have started to learn how to use mine. Its early days but lm using it to make simple toppers. The circle base is one that i designed and then cut out. The swirles came with the machine. I made the circle topper to hold the Pearls that l have. They were those that are cut in half. At the time [18 months ago] they looked like a great buy. Little did l know that it was this card and all those months later that l would use them.
The sentiment was again made on my computer using a free hand written font l downloaded. There are lots of sites out there that will let you down load free fonts. They make a great addition. I think l have approx 1200 so far. I dont have them all loaded up as they can make your programs crash if they have to load them all up at the start when you boot up.
The flowers came from the Polka Doodles CD DOUBLE SPRINKLES OF KRAFT. l just printed out 4 so i could layer them. They then gave the card a grounding with the sentiment. The swirls curved into the center where i had placed the sentiment.
Ther you have it my card using a 'Masculine image' to make a Pretty Pastel card.
If you want any information about how i made this card please drop me a line and i will do my best to get back to you a.s.a.p.
Keep Crafting
