Challenge 59 No Floral Embellishments
This challenge stated that:
You can use flower Backing Paper, flowers in your image or even a flower as an image, but NO actual floral embellishments
So i had in my paper stach some old wall paper samples. One of them had this White on Blue flower design. IT WAS PERFECT! so i cut out a oblong just big enough to fit into a new Sizzix embossing folder that l bought during their sale. This was then edged with my edging tool to make it look rough and ready. I also attacked it with some crafting sand paper to distress it even more. This edge was then emphasized by using a blue ink pad.
The white card was edged by using two of the spellbinders line edge cutting/embossing frames. This made the white card look a little more decorative as l was just using Blue colour as my main hue in this card. Some glitter ribbon was cut to size and l have in my crafting pile some extra ribbon embellishments that l had cut out using scraps of card and put away for another day. Some ‘Butchers Twine’ was then added to give the ribbon some depth. After it was secured into place and then secured onto the card front i added 3 small blue buttons with some strong clear glue.
A simple stamped image was then added using blue paper clips that i had recolored using some pens that also work with peel off’s.
Even though this card has a flowered background. With the distressing as well as the embossing folder i have used it could be given to a Male member of the family without any fear of it being pushed to the back.
If you want to know anything that l have done with this card please send me a message and i will get back to you asap.
Have a WONDERFUL BIG CRAFTY 2012

Gorgeous colours. I never would have thought to put two small ribbons through a large buckle/slider but it's very effective!

Good Morning Alan. I have just stumbled across your blog whilst browsing 'cards for men' challenge. Boy what a nice surprise! Your cards are amazing, especially this beautiful floral one. Love the little extra touches you have given it. Am off for a long browse at the rest of your ideas now, but will save your blog to my favourites.
