Digital Tuesday Challenge #144 'New Beginning'
I wanted to do something a little different for this challenge. The idea of making a New Baby Card that was non gender appealed to me. It also gave me the opportunity to use the new Cricut cartridge that l had just discovered. I chose a green colour pallet as i did a dip and grab in my oddments box.
Sometimes this is a fun way to make a card as you never know what the colour scheme will be.
Cutting out two prams that were the reverse of each other.I have only now after having my Cricut for almost a year getting to grips with how this machine works and what it can do. I am very impressed [however the Cricut cake was a whole different story]
Starting a book or log of all the paper stock i have in my collection means i can use the machine to cut out and i don't have to fear the dreaded rip and tear which happened at the start.
Anyway back to the card. Once i had cut out the prams and glued together i started on my backing paper. I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING THAT WOULD FIT IN. So back to my design program i made this digital design of Babies feet. [Once again in a few days i will make this design available in a few standard colours for you to download and use.]
The text was again done on my computer and using a digi design of balloons that were copyright free clip art. This was then cut out using my Caliber and a spellbinders die.
When i started to build the card together i did wonder if i should add a green ribbon. In the end i decided that i would make a paper ribbon and edge it with a filled paper edge. This was done by cutting out two lengths of paper cut out using my Caliber and one of the Edgabilities that came in a set of 6.
To tie everything in i took a green gel pen and added some stitch marks.
Wow!
