Challenge #4 - "Valentines Day/Love" Freshly Brewed Designs Cards For Men

Hi. I am Heather Dennis. I am a homeschooling mother of 2 wonderful children, the wife of 12 years to the love of my life, a Christian and the owner of Fresh Brewed Designs. I have loved to draw and create ever since I was a child. My daughter has inherited my love of art and recently inspired me to start creating again.
All the images in my shop are hand drawn. I offer a wide range of images from coffee, cute and inspirational. I also love to create custom drawn images, so if you are looking for anything in particular, please feel free to drop me an email.

Prize: 3 digi images of your choice

This was a fun card to design and construct.

I chose this Digi stamp to work with Fresh Brewed Designs as its one of  the perfect pairing in life, [Okay there is the Tea Cup and pot and please no big lists of the perfect couple non breathing items lol]

I went digital with this card i decided to go for a 1950's feel. The colouring of the main image was done in Photoshop. I normally save this and then build the card up. However this time i decided to stop in Photoshop to build up the card.

I also decided to carry the main icon through to the backing paper. There was a lot of this style of iconic imagery done in the late 1950's the era of the Milk shake bars.

The wording was done by using a font that looks like those old plastic tape making machines. This kept the theme of the style i was going for.

As the backing paper was made using another designers imagery, i will ask if i can make the paper design available for free download. I like to ask the original artist first and make a promise that i will not be making any money from the design.

Anyway here is my 1950's inspired Valentines Card. This is the 2nd one i have done, inspired by this era's style. However i feel this is a complete different take on that style.

Happy crafting and as per norm any questions please ask and i will see what i can do.

Keep warm and safe this winters time.

Happy Crafting

Alan

  1. Alan, I think doing a completely digital card was a great idea. As you point out, it meant you could customise a backing paper to match and everything. Great xx
