HOUSES ON THE HILL

Houses on the HILL

This is another great set of stamps from Crafty Individuals REF: CI – 271. The Trees came from another stamp collection from Crafty Individuals REF: CI – 209.

A full collection of Crafty Individual Stamps are available from THATS CRAFTY ON LINE STORE.
This time l wanted a moody look and not over do the colouring. That's why l only kept to The Warm Grey Colours from Pro-Markers.

The Scrolled Frame was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. This is a very versatile die cutting machine.

LETS MAKE A CARD!

This card is not a card that's going to scare you if your crafting skills are not as up there as you want them to be. Please remember we all started somewhere and as you start to explore different styles and aspects of crafting your skill levels will grow just as much as your stamp collection will grow. This is a simple stamp – colour- mat and layer card.

Taking the white card stamp the main buildings [this time the building are in one stamp so no multi stamping on this one!] Using the various shades of the warm grey start to colour and build up the image. The sky was done by just laying down the colour, l didn't take great care and carefully go round the edges of the buildings, By being careful and just over layering a light shade of the colour it will all blend in. If your not happy and its not looking right just re cover the buildings with the shade of grey.

The Trees were an after thought as the image when coloured didn't look right and to me the balance was not there. Then using the black fine tipped pen l coloured in the trees base and brought the black into the centre this would then create a centre point.

Now then this might be the point where a lot of crafters would throw their arms in the air and shout l don't have a die cutting machine!
To make this card you don't have to have one. Just use your edge punches or spellbinders edgeabilities dies to make a interesting image that you can secure the coloured image onto. Failing that just mat and layer the Buildings image that you have coloured.

This card is just an way to maybe spark that creativity you DON’T have to follow it exactly. So please don't feel threatened that you cant make a card because you may not have access to a die cutting machine.
The birds were done to cover up an stamping problem. I inked up the stamp well and when l impressed it l left a small edge. Normally l would have to start all over again, but as it was an Landscape stamp l could cover it up by drawing birds! This is a tip that will work for any outside/landscape stamp. A fine waterproof tip pen is your best friend some times.
So what's left to do? Well just build up the card by covering the front of the card with my silver paper [you can pick anything you want but l do advise that please use a plain one coloured paper and this way the Stamped Image you have done will not be lost on a card.

Secure the frame onto your card. I would use a wet glue as that would give you some time to just move the card into place making sure you can get it just right how you want it. Then secure into place your stamped and coloured image. As you can see l have cropped it right up to the edge so there is no white. A good trimmer will let you trim square and exactly how you want the cut to be.

I hope this has help light that spark and you will enjoy using your One toned Grey Pro-Markers,

Any problems please email me and l will do my very best to help you out.
