PICKING TULIPS

This is a card using using one element from the Stamp set called ‘VINTAGE NURSERY RHYMES 1’ From INDIGOBLU. It is available from ‘THATS CRAFTY ONLINE STORE’ It shows that 1 small element can fit into a A4 card.

LETS MAKE A CARD!


This card is quite simple to construct. The main issue will be the Electronically Cut Die. There are ways round this by using Spellbinders Dies or your Edge Punchers i.e.. Martha Stewart Punches.

The main Image was stamped using the Espresso ink. Then after giving it a quick blast using your heat gun just to ‘FIX’ the ink. Then using the Walnut Stan in and your water brush start to build up the image. Keeping it simple and ‘Clean’ When your happy once again just give it a quick heat blast.

Taking your backing paper using your trimmer cut it in half. As your going to be using a strip down the centre you can allow yourself the luxury to overlap at the sides. Saying that you might have a piece of paper left from another project and its not quite A4 in width. By adding a vertical stripe you can use paper not quite the A4 be that Vertically or Horizontally.

After the backing paper has been secured into place, take the strip of paper and using the Deckle Scissors just rough the edges. If you don't have these scissors then carefully distress the edges using a distressing tool or even a finger nail! [If you don't have a 12 inch strip of paper then cut down 2 strips from a 6 inch paper collection. The join in the middle will not be seen as its covered by the topper!

When happy with the results secure down.

Taking the ornate and cut frame topper and secure into place. Here l used a good wet glue so that l could move the topper and the wet glue gave me some leeway time to do this.

After trimming my stamped image to the size l wanted l secured that into place. Put the card to one side now, this will let the glue ‘cure’.

Armed with my Ink Blending Tool l started to lay down a light layer of the Walnut Stain ink onto the card edges. Once again a quick blast with the heat gun after it was completed. This is done to help dry ‘wet’ ink. That way you don't transferee inked areas to another part of your project.

Take the ribbon and tie a knot in the middle. There is no rule that states a ribbon has to be flat or have a bow included. This way the ribbon gives you a bit of detail.

Place strong double sided tape at each end and then secure into place

Now then the last part of the project. Placing our Card Candi. These are great little bits of card. They come in so many colours that your going to find something for any project. I recommend if you can build up a large tub of them and just when ever you need that little embellishment. I have about 12+ in  different colours and finishes. Plus they are very very well priced for what you get!

So there you have a card made up from a small stamped image [okay smallish stamp!]
