This card was printed on Fabric. It was a sample that l had received from a company when l was doing my Textile/Surface Design Degree. As you can see l never throw anything away lol.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Fabric rectangle approx. 6”x 4 to allow cutting when the final image has been finished.
StaZon Black Ink and Stamp cleaner. You must always clean your stamps after using this kind of ink
Selection of Alcohol inks Pro-Markers or Spectrum Noir’s
Metallic Thread: Silver, Gold and Copper. Sewing Needle with a wide head to fit  the wire[If you don't have all then just use one colour]
Heat Gun [Very important to fix the Ink and pen colour after each stage]
A4 White Card Blank plus Backing sheet [I used some Mirror Card design from Kanban]
Sheet of Fun Foam [This is the 2nd time l have used this in the past few weeks]
4 Gold Candi Toppers. [As you know l cant praise these to much. So many colours and they can finish a card so easily!]
Gold Metallic Sakura pen – Sakura Glitter Pen.
Cosmic Olympic Gold PVA Glue – Glossy Accents – Liquid pearls FLAMINGO and PLATINUM PEARLS
Corner Edge Punch
I have used Spellbinders dies to make the Feather and the Frame/Tassels on the card. There are ways round this and you can use your own embellishments. I will explain how l did the feather just in case you do have this set of dies]
Tub of Acrylic Enamel Paint Matt Antique Bronze
A5 sheet Black Card
Good Strong Clear Glue.
Pinking Shears for cutting the fabric down to size. Again if you don't try cutting a bit bigger and then fraying until you have the right size]
Normal crafting Items: Craft Knife – Metal Edge Ruler – Craft Mat – Double Sided Tape etc…

LETS MAKE A CARD.......
After you have selected your fabric lay it as flat as you can. even iron it and allow to cool a little. Then with your staZon ink stamp out the head image.

Before you clean the stamp take a scrap bit of paper and then stamp again. We will use this as a mask as we start to stamp the hair.

Give the face a quick blast with the heat tool to ‘set’ the ink into the fabric.

Unfortunately fabric is not a stable platform. Each fabric will react differently with the pens and the inks. So try a little before you set forward and then later find that the pens will flood the fabric.

After you have cut out the stamped head place the paper onto the fabric to cover the face.

Now we can start to stamp the flowers to make the hair. Each time make sure you have replaced the paper mask and take care when stamping. Try to stamp higher up than normal so you look over the image. Once again a quick blast from the heat gun.

Taking your Alcohol pens you can colour in the flowers, try to mix up the colours. While your doing this keep in mind the 3 flowers that you will be embellishing further with the metallic thread.

After you have coloured in each flower remember to heat set. I know this will extend the card making process buts its better to be safe than sorry.

The next thing we must now do to the fabric is to select the 3 flowers and start to just do a stitch around it. Here l have used a large stitch and a very small under stitch maybe 2 or 3 threads thick. I don't know the technical term as my work is with fabrics and not sewing. [saying that l have just started my first cross stitch project.,.]

After the 3 flowers have been done. The next decorative part is to take the Liquid pearls and place a small ‘Dot’ on the end of each eye lash.

After the dots have dried the last thing we have to do is select the final size of the image and then using your gold metallic pen and just mark down a fake stitch as if you were doing it by hand and not a machine.
Now then the feather. This was cut out of Fun Foam and then using Enamel Pain , paint it. When its dry it will give you a look of Metal. I have highlighted it with a glitter pen but this is a personal choice it looks just as good when left plain. This technique can be used for any Fun Foam die cutting.

If you don't have the Tassel die from Spellbinders then just embellish the card with ribbons and Jewellery.

Remember this is an OVER THE TOP style of card, its not as they say a WALL FLOWER!

When all the elements have been done we have to next build up the card. Secure the Fun Foam base onto the black card. Before you do this just punch out the corners with a punch. Then when that's in place secure your Fabric stamped image. The best way is to use a very good strong double sided tape. If you use a wet glue this will seep into the fabric and show on the front.

When that's in place we just have to place the decorative bits.

The last embellishing act is to put the Gold Candi toppers onto the foam and place a spot of Gold PVA Glue on the corners of the black card stock.

There you have it a mixed media project that l hope you can maybe take parts from if not try to make the card as it is.

Have fun and remember its crafting and crafting is FUN!

Any questions please send me a message and l will get back to you a.s.a.p.
